Growing up, everyone knew my life revolved around animals. Friends and family would refer to me as “the dog lover” and “the animal whisperer.”
I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Business Administration with the hopes of expanding my pet services in the future. I’ve been in the pet care industry for eight years. Between working at other dog facilities and my additional service of pet sitting, I’ve worked with not just dogs and cats, but large birds, horses, chickens, snakes, pigs, donkeys, and more.
Supplementing my degree, I pursued my dog training certificate. The English dog trainer Victoria Stilwell has always been my idol. I grew up watching and studying her famous show “It’s Me or The Dog.” When I came across her academy for dog training and behavior, I was determined to enroll. After eight-months of studying, test taking, completing assessments in the field, and routine advisor meetings, I graduated and officially became a certified positive dog trainer under the Victoria Stilwell Academy.
I will continuously educate myself on animal behaviors. I currently work at the Barrington Animal Hospital, and my next challenge is to be certified by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Training. No matter the breed or size, I’m always open and eager to take on a new challenge. I believe every dog deserves top quality training and genuine care.

Rachel is the best at what she does. She is so patient with not only your pup, but with you too as you learn how to properly train your dog. Training a new puppy was hard, but Rachel was there every step of the way to ensure my dog had the best experience.
